A Night On The Town

My son just has to do something special on Saturdays. A few weeks ago, we had a cold and rainy Saturday, and he couldn’t stand it. We both like to dress up, so he suggested we dress up and go out to dinner. There are very few restaurants in our small town, and fewer that are open in the off season. So just before I called the cab, I called our favorite restaurant, and the owner told me they were closed until March 1. We were a little overdressed, but we ended up going to a pizza place. We pretended we had just come from somewhere really important, and we had a great time.
I wore a Ralph Lauren dress I had never worn before, and when I was getting ready my son actually told me I should wear my hair up. His sense of style is amazing!
Here are some pics of what we wore:

I’m the first pics of my daughter, I’m sure you can recognize the peekaboo. And in the last pic you see her asking for chocolates. She knows where they are and she knows how to get them.:)

Reflections on Kid Chic

My children are my life, so I decided to include them in the blog. I take pride in how my kids look. I know that may sound superficial, but the reality is that it does matter how they look.
Social interactions are everything to young children. Their minds are developing every second, and it is really important that they have positive interactions with the world. People are constantly coming up to me, telling me how cute my little girl is. I’m not entering her in any pageants, of course, but if I can make her look sweet so that people compliment her a lot, then I’m doing it. Besides, every mom knows how much fun it is to dress a baby!
When my son was little, I always dressed him as well as I could too. Studies show that teachers respond positively to attractive children. You can argue all day about how wrong that is, but it will still be true. So I dressed him well. I want to give them every advantage I could possibly give them.
Now, my son is 11, and he has amazing style. Even when he wears a T shirt and jeans, he tops it with his leather moto jacket and his newsboy hat. And he looks great!
I am completely happy admitting that my kids have better style than I do! So I have to include them here!
