For fashion newcomers like me, it often seems like the world of fashion has its own language. Even with access to the vast dictionary that is the internet, some of these words are still very hard to understand.
I just ran across one term in a “Racked” article on the Target-Prabal Gurung collection: miniaudiere. It turned out to be a small purse.

More than Words

When I started this blog I thought writing was the only skill I would need. But that simply isn’t true, especially when you are writing a fashion blog! If you are writing about fashion, you will need to be able to model, and you will need to be a good photographer or know one. Beyond those skills, a wide knowledge of technology is crucial. It’s hard to believe it now, but for the first 4 months of this blog, I didn’t even know how to make the pictures show up in my posts. Clearly, technology is another required skill!
My son is my photographer, but there are days when he isn’t home, and I need to take pics on those days as well. I am getting a full length mirror; I saw a blog yesterday where the pics were largely made up of picture the writer had taken of herself. You couldn’t see her face, but you could see her outfits, and that is really what you need.
So on those days when I don’t have anyone to take my pics, I do sometimes take pictures of the pieces of the outfit laid out on my bed or on the floor. I wanted a way to trim these, so that they would have that cool plcut-out effect. I knew I should be able to do it, because I have the software. But I couldn’t find it.
Finally, after much searching, I found the option in Microsoft Paint. Then I clicked on help enough times to figure it out, and now, I can finally do it!!!
So following this will be pics of my boyfriend jeans, Nordstroms striped shirt,
and a great pair of yellow boat shoes. I also wore a leather necklace and a shell necklace.I also wore cute leopard bangle I got for a dollar at AC Moore.
Such cool mom chic!
